As the fire spread quickly across the mountain, I ran inside and grabbed what I could carry– bringing one of my songwriting journals with me.

This album is the culmination of songs written before and after the fires changed everything about my life. For many weeks, I didn't know where I'd live, let alone when I'd create music again.

At a donation center, I found a small, acoustic guitar nestled in the corner amongst some children's toys. It was this donation that allowed me to write many of the songs on the album. Through the kindness and generosity of many individuals and organizations, I was able to make music again, and create, even as I was rebuilding my life. I am forever grateful.
